UK Police receive Ferrari 612

ferrari.jpg

Its pretty awesome to think that as a police officer in England you might have the opportunity to drive a specially prepared Ferrari 612 on your daily traffic patrol routine! Thats right folks, Scotland Yard has just been handed the keys to a brand spanking new ‘Blu Tour de France’ Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

The 612 was presented to British Police as a pace car (of sort) to accompany the 1500 miles of the UK leg of Ferrari’s 60th Anniversay Relay, a worldwide tour that has already been through the Middle East, Far East, North America, Parts of Europe and arrives today in the UK.

The 612 will be driven by officers from 5 law enforcement agencies across the UK passing through the British Isles from Belfast to Silverstone making appearances in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London. All drivers are volunteers and are driving in their free time. I am pretty sure that nobody had any complaints about not

This version of the 612 is packed with all the toys you would imagine a ‘Limited Edition British Police 007 style’ car should have including rocket launchers, 20mm M61 Vulcan and flame throwers as well as the Ferrari GTS Handling package (why is this even an option on the 612 ?).

Just like the Lamborghini LP640 that was loaned to them back in November for the MPH ‘06 show in Birmingham, this 612 isn’t for keeps.

Sold Out: 2008 Bentley Brooklands

bentley_brooklands.jpg

For the ultra-luxe, gangster or pimp, Bentley recently introduced the “Bentley Broklands” at the New York Auto Show.

Each Brooklands begins its life as a Bentley Azure convertible, then it’s hard top roof is hand-welded on. Hitting the market on the heels of the successful debut of the Continental GTC, the Brooklands is has a sweet ass 530 bhp V8. It’s also ultra-exclusive: only 550 will be produced over a 3 year period. Bentley said the reason for the limited production run over 3 years is due to the extreme level of customization which includes custom details from the color, type of wood, and smell of upholstery used in the interior.

As each custom coach will differ in customization, prices will no doubt vary, most Brooklands will sell for just under $400,000. Bentley has already taken orders for the 140 some cars that will ship in 2008, so if you want one you’ll have to wait two years.

Paris Regrets Making Fun of DUI

paris_1.jpg

While out on the town in LA last night, Paris Hilton was wise enough to let Josh Henderson drive (Ashlee Simpson’s EX). I guess seeing that she could now go to jail for violating her probation (again) due to her suspended license (which she did on February 27th, 2007), Paris has been a lot more cautious than ever when it comes to her getting around. (in a vehicle that is)

Apparently Paris has been pulling out all tricks of her devious trades in order to get her skit pulled from tonight’s premiere of Nick Cannon’s new sketch series ‘Short Circuitz’. In it, Paris is the star of a fake infomercial for WWPD bracelets (What Would Paris Do?) in which she makes light of her fabulous recent DUI. In the sketch (which previewed to TV critics last week), the action shifts from salesgirl Paris to “real-life” situations in which people look to their WWPD bracelets for advice. In one instance, a leggy blonde in a short skirt is busted for drunken driving. After the blonde checks her WWPD bracelet, she starts grinding on the one of the cops as if he were a stripper pole (did someone say STRIPPPERRRZZZ?) “I can’t arrest you, you’re too fabulous”, says the officer.

I cant wait to update you all after her court date to find out really how hilarious her judge finds this skit in light of her serious misbehavior.

You didn’t really think I was going to let this one slip by CarZi’s radar did you?

San Jose, California: Commemorating 30 years of delivering products and technology to the embedded computing market, Intel Corporation today introduced the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor 5300 series with extended life cycle support, the first to bring Intel architecture-based quad-core performance to the embedded segment.

Intel marked the launch here today with the unveiling of an Intel-themed embedded technology-based motorcycle by Orange County Choppers. The custom-built motorcycle boasts a Dual V-Twin engine pumping out 250 horsepower and equipped with GPS and fingerprint recognition, launched simultaneously in the Internet-based virtual world of Second Life, celebrates 30 years of Intel’s innovation and technology leadership in advancing embedded computing.

Orange County Choppers’ Paul Teutul Senior:
“As Intel celebrates 30 years of innovation, we’ve created the most powerful and technologically advanced bike we’ve ever made to showcase the many ways the world benefits from Intel embedded technology,” said “In fact, we were amazed to discover how much Intel technology we have in our own shop. Beyond the Intel- powered PCs and servers, we have Intel processors embedded in many of the machines and devices that help us with every build.”

Intel’s VP & General Manager Doug Davis:
“The breakthrough performance and power efficiency that characterize the industry’s first quad-core processors for embedded are as unmistakable as the raw power of the four cylinders of the Intel Chopper’s quad engine. This 250-horsepower chopper – designed using quad-core Intel computers – is more than just a mechanical powerhouse; it’s also a marvel of embedded technology with an ultra-mobile PC powering fingerprint recognition for security and a digital dashboard with ignition control, digital gauges, cameras that replace rear-view mirrors, integrated audio and video systems, GPS navigation and wireless connectivity.”

Toyota posts 11.7% rise in U.S. sales

toyota_stock.jpg

Toyota Motor Corp. (TM) just reported that they had their best monthly sales performance ever this March 2007. Other Japanese automakers such as Honda Motor Co. (HMC) and Nissan Motor Co. Toyota’s U.S. sales rocketed 11.7% in March 2007 compared to 2006, boosted by record sales of gas-electric hybrids as well as strong overall auto sales. The overall rise in U.S. sales came despite declines at General Motors Corp., down 3.9%; Daimler Chrysler’s Chrysler Group, down 4.6%; and Ford Motor Co., down 9.1%.

In all, Toyota sold 242,675 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the U.S., its best month ever which includes 28,453 hybrids sold during March 2007.

Infiniti is ready to upgrade the car everyone and their mom has - the G35 Coupe. The G37 Coupe is certainly better looking, both sleeker and sportier and the best thing about it is that it is 35% more powerful with 330 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

The G37 Coupe’s enhanced platform and chassis also features an advanced 4-Wheel Active Steer system (4WAS), which improves vehicle handling by adjusting both the front steering gear ratios and the rear suspension geometry according to steering input and vehicle speed. Braking and handling is aimed to be among the best in the luxury sport coupe class.

The new, second generation G Coupe is set to arrive at Infiniti retailers across the US in August 2007 and in the UK about a year later as part of the launch line-up.

Suncor Energy: A Socially Responsible Oil Company?

It is no secret to the Integrated Energy Sector that the Canadian Province of Ontario is currently experiencing a ‘fuel supply shortage’. As of this week it seems to have been somewhat rectified and was widely felt in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) about two weeks ago. At one point during the last 3 weeks many gas stations across the Province could not keep up with consumer demand and as a result went days without any fuel. Gas prices surged up to $1.10CAD/litre ($3.59USD/gallon) during this 2 week period and have recently held steady around $0.99CAD/litre ($3.25USD/gallon). For daily gas prices in the GTA checkout: TorontoGasPrices.com

In response to this, Suncor Energy Inc. (an integrated energy company based in Calgary Alberta currently developing one of the world’s largest petroleum resource basins, the Athabasca Oil Sands) has introduced a 50% off Car Wash Special at all Sunoco Ecowash Locations in Ontario Canada valid until April 30th, 2007.

What a socially responsible oil company. . . . (slight oxymoron).
