Top Gear Polar Special In 1080p Available Once Again

If you were looking to download the Polar Special in 1080p but were unable to as the torrent had been pruned from Mininova, well then you’ll be happy to know that the torrent is available again.

And before you ask, this Top Gear in HD was a one-time thing. It was the only episode of Top Gear to ever be broadcast in HD sadly.

Andy Weighs In On Women On Top Gear

As you may or may not have heard, there are currently some controversial laws being implemented in the UK:

State-funded organisations are being ordered to boost the proportion of female, black and gay staff to reflect the make-up of the UK population under plans unveiled by Labour’s deputy leader Harriet Harman.

This could potentially mean that Top Gear would have to introduce a female host as the law doesn’t have an exclusion for broadcasters. Top Gear’s executive producer Andy Wilman wrote his opinions about that particular potential change in a recent blog post:

I also do believe that this sort of claptrap is very patronising to women, because it assumes women can’t enjoy a show’s presenters on merit, but can only appreciate a programme if spoken to by one of their own sex.

Man Gets $30k Internet Bill For Watching Top Gear

This is only sort-of Top Gear related, but I still found it quite humorous and worth posting.

Will Pierce and his son were on a ski trip in France when he decided to kill some boredom by downloading Top Gear using his wireless data card for his laptop. Unknown to him, his data plan wasn’t exactly cheap when it came to out of the country downloads and he ended up with a £21,716 ($30,334.40) bill once he got home, all thanks to Top Gear. Thankfully his carrier Vodafone waived the fee, but still consider it a warning. Always check those data plans, no matter how tempting Top Gear is.

Top Gear Back June 21st

Applausestore.com has the filming dates for the coming season of Top Gear. Since they always film the show the Wednesday before it airs and since the first film date is the 17th, it’s pretty safe to assume that Top Gear will be back that Sunday, the 21st. Woo hoo!

Amongst TopGearphiles, Season 10 is held up as the all-time greatest, featuring the Motorhome Grand Prix, the Channel crossing and, yes, the Kalihari special — probably the greatest episode ever. Each episode costs $1.99 or you can buy the whole season for $14.99. If you have the means, we highly recommend heading to iTunes for the downloads.
